Osun State Police Command has invited former Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, over an alleged assault reported to the command by the late Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke in 2014.

According to a letter titled “Invitation to Police station” dated October 20, 2017, Omisore is expected to meet with the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department.

Reports by Daily Post said Omisore has agreed to honour the invitation on Monday, October 30.

Recall that Adeleke, while in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2014, alleged that he was assaulted by Omisore during a meeting of the party’s governorship aspirants for the 2014 governorship election in the state.

The late Senator who was then an aspirant of the party specifically alleged that the immediate past Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, assaulted him during an hot argument with Senator Omisore at the venue of a meeting with the PDP screening committee.

Omisore and Adesiyan denies the allegation.

Late Senator Adeleke, few days after he alleged that he was assaulted, shunned the PDP governorship primary election which produced Senator Omisore as the PDP candidate for the 2014 governorship election in Osun state.

He then decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) where he was offered the Osun West Senatorial ticket in 2015.
