President Muhammadu Buhari has given a bold hint that he will seek re-election next year by naming the Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, as the Director-General (DG) of his campaign.
The appointment was made at a ‘secret meeting’, according to SaharaReporters.
The sources informed that Mr. Amaechi was picked over the governor of Imo State, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, who was said to have actively sought the position.
Amaechi, it would be recalled held the position in 2015, when President Buhari won the presidential election.
Also named as members of the team are Plateau State governor, Mr. Simon Lalong, his Kaduna State counterpart, Mr. Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Nasarawa State, Mr. Tanko Almakura, and Mr. Mala Buni, National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
