Sokoto govt spends millions to prevent bandits attacks- Tambuwal

The Sokoto state government is spending millions of Naira monthly to prevent bandits’ attack in the

state.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal disclosed this at the commissioning ceremony of Kofar Mata 120 meters bridge constructed by the United Bank for Africa, UBA Foundation for the students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

Tambuwal who stressed the importance of investing in the education sector, regretted that fighting bandits was taking a lot of their resources.

“We are spending millions of Naira monthly on security because of what is happening in Zamfara state.

” Our security agencies have been put on red alert so that we don’t experience a similar incidence in Sokoto state,” he said

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Bashir Garba, the Governor called on corporate organizations to help in funding education and security in the country.

He commended UBA for constructing the bridge which he said would provide succour to students.
