In few months time, Nigerians will have another opportunity to select the presidential candidate of their choice between the incumbent and options of another 69 potential choice. They will be confronted with an option of continuity or otherwise who they believe will improve their lots in the next four years.

But with the present scenario, the country is faced with two daunting questions; would Nigerians elect a credible candidate from the 70 candidates vying the same seat, even if a credible candidate is elected, will the incumbent government allows the will of Nigerians to come to pass?

Judging from the current political happenings now, majority of the electorates are uninformed, I mean the people who are ready to sell their votes, their future for peanuts. The present electronic voting system in Nigeria has somehow technically kicked out the elites from of the voting system. It is going to be difficult for a civil servant
or an elite to wait for several hours before he or she can be registered. There is no efficiency in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) electronic voting system. So, the class of people with a huge responsibility will have no time to waste when he is not even sure whether he will be registered at the end of the day or not.

The second issue is that whether the incumbent government will allow the will of the electorates to prevail over their selfish interest? Judging from the experiences of Governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States where heavy rigging and vote buying was openly in display and was never checked by the federal authority.

In conclusion, to have a credible election, there must cooperation with all stakeholders to join hands to make sure that Nigeria becomes a better place on earth and ranked among the best performing nations in all ramifications.
