Two Strangers Are Being Investigated by the FBI for Committing Sexual Acts on a Flight to Detroit
The flight was only four hours long.

An unidentified 28-year-old man and 48-year-old woman were strangers before their Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to Detroit on Sunday. But that’s where this romantic travel story ends.

Rather than fall in love, the two were caught committing a sexual act in their seats, and have since been issued citations. The FBI is now overseeing the investigation, and the two could face serious charges.

Both passengers could face either a minor misdemeanor or a felony charge for the lewd public display.

According to Detroit’s Channel 4 news, the woman was scheduled to take a connecting flight to Nashville, while the man was en route to Miami.

In a recent Jetsetter survey of more than 1,600 travelers, 15 percent admitted to having sex on an airplane.

But while joining the Mile High Club might seem sexy to some travelers, it’s important to emphasize that committing a sexual act of any kind — on an airplane seat, in front of other travelers — is definitely a crime.

So head to the lavatory instead, if you must, though we don’t condone it. And at least wait for a long-haul, overnight flight.

Delta has not yet responded to a request for a statement on the incident.
